The SABC has just extended the closing date for people to apply for the position of group chief executive officer.People now have until 29 September to apply, which was originally 7 September.
''We believe that a number of late applications were received,'' says Irene Charnley, the chairperson of the interim SABC board, who says the decision to extend the application deadline was made to ensure maximum transparency.
''Given the importance of this position, we therefore decided to extend the deadline to provide a further opportunity for people to apply. We are not aware of who has applied for the position and want to assure those who have already applied that their applications will be considered.”
